New Delhi [India], July 18 (ANI): Ahead of the trust vote in Karnataka Assembly, BJP Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narsimha Rao on Thursday stated that the JD(S)-Congress alliance government led by Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy is in its last stage and the CM may not even face the trust vote.
Speaking to ANI, Rao said, "Kumaraswamy government is in its last stage and in some time, it will be a thing of the past. There is no guarantee whether Kumaraswamy will even face a trust vote. Congress leaders were busy in some kind of brokerage to pursue their own leaders but nothing worked out. He may use this opportunity to make an emotional speech and may walk out after that."
"Since this government was formed, it was undemocratic and corrupt. People were unhappy with this government and will be relieved now," he added.
On being asked whether BJP will form a government in the state, he said, "We are not in a hurry. We will take time to sit and talk and to take a decision which is in favour of the state. People have given us a mandate and we were the single largest party after the state elections. They have given us 105 seats and we will work for them."
Meanwhile, in Bengaluru all senior leaders of BJP, Congress and JD(S) including Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, BJP state chief BS Yeddyurappa and Congress leader Siddaramaiah have arrived at Vidhana Soudha for the floor test.
Kumaraswamy on Wednesday issued whip to all 37 MLAs of JD(S) including three rebel legislators Narayana Gowda, Gopalaiah and H Vishwanath to be present in the Assembly at the time of the trust vote.
Kumaraswamy has warned that if the MLAs do not attend the House and vote against the party whip even after attending the session, action will be initiated under Anti-Defection Law and the MLAs will be disqualified from their posts. (ANI)
