Pashupati Nath Singh talking to ANI on Friday at Dhanbad

Dhanbad (Jharkhand) [India], May 10 (ANI): Congress leader Kirti Azad knows nothing about development that took place in Dhanbad during last five years as he lived in Delhi, said sitting MP and BJP candidate from Dhanbad Lok Sabha constituency Pashupati Nath Singh.
Singh was reacting on Azad's claim that he worked in Dhanbad for 11 years. "This is totally false that he worked in Dhanbad for 11 years. He was a cricketer and got the job in Bokaro steel plant by the influence of his father who was a Congress leader. He lived in Delhi and used to get the salary in lakhs from Bokaro steel plant. He cannot even take names of five persons who had worked with him here in Dhanbad," said Singh.
Attacking Azad, he further said: "I do not consider him as a Congressman. He was with us till yesterday. He is seeing today's Dhanbad which is developed. The things were different in past which he hasn't seen. What developments has he done in Darbhanga?" he asked.
On Friday, Azad told ANI, "I am confident about a huge victory. People of Dhanbad want a change and I understand the pain they are going through because I have worked here for 11 years."
"Dhanbad earned me bread and butter which I cannot forget as I belong to Jharkhand, whereas my opponent Singh is from Bihar," he added.
Azad is a three-time MP from Darbhanga, while Singh is a two-time MP from Dhanbad. Singh polled 47 per cent against the Congress's 21.9 per cent in 2014 and is hopeful of making a hat-trick.
A total of 20 candidates are contesting on Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat, polling for which will be held on May 12. (ANI)
