Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], February 15 (ANI): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah alleged that the Central government is "killing" the Jal Jeevan Mission project "by not providing the necessary amount of funds in its budget", adding that his state government is "committed to providing safe drinking water to every household" despite the "stepmotherly attitude" towards the state .

In a social media post on X, CM Siddaramaiah, "The colors of the @BJP4India party that betrayed the interests of Karnataka are revealed!"
He stated that the Jal Jeevan Mission was implemented in Karnataka with the aim of providing piped water connections to all rural households in the state.
"But considering the funds released to Karnataka in the budget by the central government, it seems that they are deliberately trying to sabotage this project. The central minister @VSOMANNA_BJP who should have raised his voice against this, is lying to cover up this betrayal," he said.
Every rupee released by the Central Government has been fully utilized by the State Government to successfully implement the proposed projects, CM said, adding, "But the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been refusing to give Karnataka its share of the grant it is rightfully entitled to."
"@narendramodiTheir government is killing the Jal Jeevan Mission project by not providing the necessary amount of funds in its budget. BJP leaders like Minister Somanna, who should have questioned this injustice keeping in mind the interest of the state, are shamelessly spreading misinformation and betraying the Kannadigas," he said.
"Instead of misleading people like this, Minister Somanna should question Prime Minister Narendra Modi as to why the full grant allocated to JJM was not given in the 2024-25 budget," he said.
He further said, "Despite such actions by the BJP, our government in Karnataka has done well by doing as it says."
"Although the BJP-led central government continues its stepmotherly attitude towards Karnataka, we are committed to providing safe drinking water to every household through the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme," he added. (ANI)
