New Delhi [India], December 12 (ANI): Following Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal's announcement of a Rs 2,100 monthly scheme for women in Delhi, AAP leader Manish Sisodia expressed confidence in the financial viability of the initiative. He stated that Kejriwal, with his deep knowledge of finance, knows exactly how to manage funds to make the scheme a reality.
Sisodia also targeted Congress and BJP and said these parties could not think of such schemes and when people ask for it they just make excuses.
"Congress and BJP could not think of these things and when the public asks for these things they only make excuses. Kejriwal announced that a 1,000 Rs scheme has been launched today and after the elections, women will be given Rs 2100. Now BJP people will keep on ranting where the money will come from. So I would like to say I worked with Kejriwal Ji since 2015 as finance minister and he has a good knowledge of finance and very well where the money will come from and where to spend."
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi described Arvind Kejriwal as a prominent leader and said he is the first leader who understood the pain of women.
"Arvind Kejriwal, the prominent leader, is the first leader in the history of this country who understood the pain of women. The biggest concern for women is that they have to stretch out their hands before a man even for their humble needs. In childhood, it is before their parents, before their spouses when they grow up and in old age, before their children," CM Atishi told ANI.
"To fulfil this need, In March, this year, Arvind Kejriwal announced Rs 1000 for women," CM Atishi said. She said the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal caused a delay in the transfer of the money to the account of the women.
"If Arvind Kejriwal would not have been sent to jail, then that amount would have been credited to the account of the women. The arrest of Kejriwal caused a delay, but in the process, many women approached him. They demanded more than Rs 1000 to fulfil their needs" she added.
"To fulfil this demand of the women of Delhi, he promised today, that Rs 2100 would be given to every woman from the Delhi government after the formation of the new government, " CM Atishi said.
Earlier in the day, Kejriwal made two significant announcements on Thursday, both aimed at benefiting the women of Delhi.
Addressing the media, Kejriwal stated, "Today, I have come to make two big announcements for the people of Delhi. Both the announcements are for women. I had promised that I would give Rs 1,000 to every woman. This proposal was passed in the cabinet meeting chaired by CM Atishi this morning. Now this scheme has been implemented in Delhi." (ANI)
