"Kejriwal has collapsed in all models": BJP MP Chandolia thanks people in Delhi for heeding PM Modi's appeal

New Delhi [India], February 8 (ANI): As Election Commission trends from Saturday's counting of polls in Delhi Assembly polls indicated an apparent victory for the BJP, party MP Yogender Chandolia thanked people of the national capital for supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal against the incumbent Aam Aadmi party.
"I thank the people of Delhi for listening to PM Modi's appeal... Kejriwal has collapsed in all models... It is confirmed that Kejriwal will go to Tihar. He wanted to be the CM but he is not even going to be an MLA anymore," said Chandolia, commenting on the shift in Delhi's political dynamics.
"The next CM of Delhi will be any party worker chosen by the party high command..." he said signaling the end of Arvind Kejriwal's tenure as Chief Minister.
As BJP crossed the majority mark in Delhi election results in the early trends, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva today said that the people of Delhi have chosen PM Modi's good model of governance and have rejected Arvind Kejriwal's bad model.
Furhter he said prominent leaders of AAP like Arvind Kejriwal, Atishi, Saurabh Bharadwaj will lose as they "have betrayed the public."
Sachdeva also emphasised that this election was a contest between good governance and bad governance.
BJP has crossed the majority mark in the Delhi Assembly election results, as per trends depicted by the Election Commission of India.
The counting of votes for the Delhi Assembly elections began at 8 am today under tight security. Polling for the 70-member assembly took place on February 5 with a total voter turnout recorded at 60.54 per cent.
As per Election Commission data, BJP led in 45 seats while the AAP was ahead in 25 seats. The majority mark to form the government in the national capital is 36. (ANI)
