Kejriwal condemns Rahul Gandhi's 'dalali' rant against PM Modi
New Delhi [India], Oct. 7 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday condemned Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi's comment that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is doing politics over the blood of jawans, who sacrificed their lives for Kashmir. Kejriwal said words like 'dalali' is derogatory and painful and should not have been used by Gandhi. "I strongly condemn what Rahul Gandhi said about our jawans, this is a matter in which we all need to stand united," said Kejriwal. "Such words (dalali) should not have been used by Rahul Gandhi," he added. Gandhi, who had accused Prime Minister Modi of hiding behind the blood of soldiers and doing "dalali," (cashing in) on their sacrifice, earlier today again insisted that he supports the surgical strikes but will not support the use of Indian Army in political posters and propaganda. "I fully support the surgical strikes and I have said so unequivocally, but I will not support using the Indian Army in political posters and propaganda all across the country," said the Congress vice-president in a series of tweets. Training guns at Prime Minister Modi over the surgical strikes, Rahul yesterday said "Jo hamare jawan hain jinhone apna khoon diya hai, Jammu and Kashmir mein khoon diya hai, jinhone Hindustan ke liye surgical strike kiye hain, unke khoon ke peeche aap chhupe hain. Unki aap dalali kar rahe ho. Yeh bilkul galat hai . [You (Modi) are hiding behind the blood of soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir and those who carried out the surgical strikes for India. You are exploiting their sacrifices, which is very wrong]. The Congress leader has been accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of trying to encash through the sacrifice of the jawans by crediting Prime Minister Modi for the strike. Concluding his 'Kisan Yatra' at the Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, Gandhi called upon the Prime Minister to work for the development of people, especially farmers and armymen. "The soldiers who spilled their blood for the country and carried out surgical strikes, you are hiding behind them and trying to cash in on their blood. They have done their work now you do yours. Help the farmers give the army a hike in the seventh pay commission, it is your responsibility and that is what you have been elected for," said Gandhi. (ANI)
