KCR woos the gods, donates gold at Tirupati Temple

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Feb. 22 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) was seen donating gold, reportedly worth crores, at the Venkateswara Swamy Temple, also known as the Tirupati temple here.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Feb. 22 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) was seen donating gold, reportedly worth crores, at the Venkateswara Swamy Temple, also known as the Tirupati temple here. KCR along with his wife and family members reached Renigunta Airport for a two-day tour of Tirumala and Tirupati. At the Renigunta Airport Minister Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, Tirupati MLA Sugunamma, Chandragiri MLA Sri Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, DIG Prabhakar Rao, TUDA former Chairman Sri Shankar Reddy and others were accorded a warm welcome. In front of the Airport, Vedic Scholars welcomed the Chief Minister and his wife with Vedic Chants. Rao and his wife later drove down to Tirumala from Airport and when they reached Tirumala, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer (EO) Sambasiva Rao, Joint Executive Officer (JEO) Srinivasa Raju accorded a floral welcome to the visiting couple. Sambasiva Rao said in the annals of the Independent Indian history no government was ever presented gold ornaments to the Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy and KCR thus heralded a new tradition. He said only Emperors and Kings like Krishnadeveraya and Mysore Maharaja donated the ornaments to the Lord in the past history. Rajampet MP Mithun Reddy, MLAs Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy welcomed KCR at the guest house. Thousands of the devotees at Tirumala were inquisitive about the Chief Minister's visit and were pleased with his very presence. Several political leaders and officials from Chittoor districts also met the Chief Minister. (ANI)
