Kazakh envoy calls on Tamil Nadu CM

Chennai [India], April 27 (ANI): Kazakhstan's Ambassador to India Bulat Sarsenbayev called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E.Palaniswami and discussed potential cooperation between Kazakhstan and Tamil Nadu.

Chennai [India], April 27 (ANI): Kazakhstan's Ambassador to India Bulat Sarsenbayev called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E.Palaniswami and discussed potential cooperation between Kazakhstan and Tamil Nadu. During their meeting, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu expressed confidence that the opening of the Kazakh Consulate would make a significant contribution to the extending of bilateral economic ties and expressed readiness to provide all possible support for the effective functioning of the institution. The Kazakh envoy also held an interactive session "India-Kazakhstan: building a strategic partnership" organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) in Chennai. The moderator of the interactive session from the Indian side was Mr. S.Sridharan, Managing Director of CII Chennai Zone. The session was also attended by representatives of more than 55 leading companies - members of the CII in Chennai. During this event, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan gave a broad description of the main areas of cooperation between Kazakh and Indian companies, elaborated about the work of the government in creating a favourable business climate and easing in the tax system for investing companies. In addition, in the second part of the two-hour session, the Ambassador answered many questions from representatives of Indian companies. Tamil Nadu is the second largest state in India in terms of industrial production (after the state of Maharashtra). It is the most urbanized state. Unlike most states of the country, industrial production is fairly evenly distributed throughout the territory. Tamil Nadu ranks second among the states of India in terms of the level of development of the IT industry, just after Bangalore. (ANI)
