Kashmir unrest: Rajnath to meet Army Chief Dalbir Singh today
New Delhi [India], Sept. 7 (ANI): Ahead of the all-party meeting in the national capital to discuss the future strategy on the Kashmir unrest, Home Minister Rajnath Singh today will meet Indian Army Chief Dalbir Singh. Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi will also be present during the meeting. This development comes after Rajnath briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday on the situation in Kashmir after returning from a two-day visit to the State. "Briefed the Prime Minister on all-party delegation's visit to J&K and also apprised him of the situation in the State," Mr. Singh said in a tweet after the meeting at the Prime Minister's residence. The delegation concluded its visit on Monday with no breakthrough as the Hurriyat leaders refused to interact with the representatives. Last month, Army Chief Suhag, who was in Kashmir taking stock of the situation, told the security forces to exercise maximum possible restraint while dealing with mobs in the unrest and uphold human rights.
