Kashmir unrest: Four protestors killed in Budgam, death toll reaches 64
Srinagar, Aug 16 (ANI): At least four protestors were on Tuesday morning killed by the security forces in central Kashmir's Budgam district. As per reports, the incident took place when the CRPF personnel opened fire on the group of protestors who pelted stones at them at Aripanthan area of the district. Several others are also reported to have sustained injuries. With this, the death toll in the valley following Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani's killing has reached 64. Curfew and separatist shutdown continued in Kashmir today for the 39th consecutive day. All educational institutions, shops, public transport and other businesses have remained shut since July 9, a day after Wani was killed. However, banks, post offices, and government offices have been functioning during this period. Several thousand people have been injured in the clashes that began on July 9. (ANI)
