Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], May 1 (ANI): Congress Lok Sabha candidate from Mandi Vikramaditya Singh on Wednesday took a dig at Kangana Ranaut and said that she knows nothing about our country and its history.
"...She (Kangana Ranaut) has no knowledge of history, geography, or statistics. Sometimes she says that the country gained independence in 2014 and sometimes she says that Subhash Chandra Bose was the first PM of the country. Leave aside the history of the country or the state, she doesn't even know the history of her party," said Vikramaditya Singh.
He further stated that he did not want to make any statement on the BJP candidate. "I am only asking her that we want to interact with you with a mandate and a vision with committed leadership," he added.
He challenged Ranaut saying, "I request Kangana Ranaut that come and debate with me at Mandi's Seri Manch. I will tell you about our vision and what work we have completed..."
The Congress leader said that if she can forget the contribution by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, then what else can we expect out of her?
Lashing out at Jairam Thakur, he said, "He thinks of himself as the leader of Mandi only, he forgets that he has been the CM of the state. Being the CM also he used to talk only about his region, Mandi.
"I would urge him to rise above this politics of regionalism..." he added further.
Hailing Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, he said, "I request them to come here and support us."
Notably, Himachal Pradesh has four Lok Sabha seats: Hamirpur, Mandi, Shimla, and Kangra. The BJP had won all four seats in 2019.
The elections to the four Lok Sabha seats of Himachal Pradesh and by-polls to the six assembly constituencies that fell vacant with the disqualification of six rebel Congress MLAs will be held on June 1.
Voting for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 was held on Friday across 88 Parliamentary Constituencies spread over 12 States and Union Territories. (ANI)
