"June 4 last day when Congress, its allies will talk about north-south": Annamalai on exit poll results

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], June 1 (ANI): Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai took a dig at the opposition alliance, the INDIA bloc while expressing happiness over the exit poll results that predicted a thumping majority for NDA in the Centre and an improved vote share in the southern states including Kerala and Telangana.
The exit poll predicted a marked rise in NDA's vote share in Tamil Nadu which is expected to go to 22 per cent.
"I am equally delighted at the in states like Tamil Nadu, where I belong, the vote share is going up...in Kerala, Telangana and all parts of south India, people have decided that this time they will stand with PM Modi," Annamalai told ANI on Saturday.
"They (INDIA alliance) run such a north-south campaign. People are going to give a fitting answer. June 4 will be the last day when Congress and their alliance partners are going to talk about north-south," he added.
According to the Axis My India exit poll, the BJP-led NDA is expected to win 2-4 seats in Tamil Nadu. The INDIA bloc, which has both DMK and Congress in it, is set to win 33-37 seats out of 39 Lok Sabha seats.
The Axis My India exit poll predicted that the BJP-led NDA is to win 2-3 seats in Kerala. It said Congress-led UDF would win 17-18 seats out of 20 Lok Sabha seats and LDF, led by CPI-M, is expected to win 0-1 seat. The exit polls have predicted a 27 per cent vote share for NDA in Kerala, which will be the highest the party has ever got in the state.
The exit polls predicted that NDA would win 23-25 seats out of 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka. INDIA bloc is likely to get 3-8 seats, according to the exit polls.
Exit polls on Saturday predicted a tight contest between Congress and the BJP in Telangana in the Lok Sabha polls with Bharat Rashtra Samithi suffering huge losses. According to exit poll results telecast by TV 9 Bharatvarash, BJP-led NDA is poised to win seven of the 17 Lok Sabha seats, the INDIA bloc would win eight seats and others two seats.
The exit polls also predicted that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance is poised to retain power at the Centre with a thumping majority and register its third straight win in the Lok Sabha polls.
The exit polls predicted that the ruling BJP-led NDA is poised to improve its performance over its 2019 record when it won 352 seats. Two exit polls predicted the BJP also improving its numbers from the 303 seats it won in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
The BJP-led NDA improved its numbers in 2019 Lok Sabha polls compared to the 2014 election. It is again poised for an upward trajectory, the exit polls predicted.
Lok Sabha elections were held in seven phases from April 19. Votes will be counted on June 4. The exit poll outcome was declared after the conclusion of polling for the seventh and final phase of Lok Sabha polls on Saturday. (ANI)
