New Delhi [India], July 26 (ANI): Stepping up his attacks on the opposition, Union Minister and BJP President JP Nadda while addressing Kargil Vijay Rajat Samaroh on the occasion of 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas on Friday accused them of politicising the "Agniveer Scheme" and PM Narendra Modi's visit to Drass.
Addressing the gathering and speaking on the "Agniveer Scheme", JP Nadda said, "We don't do politics with the army of the nation because we favour country first. A lot of reports from India and the world recommended that India's Army should comprise more youth and the Agniveer Scheme was a way to it. Today, we have incorporated many youths in the army who can save the nation with a fighting spirit. But unfortunately, some people (opposition) are doing politics on this and they keep doing it. Politics has become bigger than the nation for some parties."
Emphasising the employment opportunities for Agniveers after service, Nadda asserted, "PM Modi has said our force will be young with the introduction of Agniveer who will be able to safeguard the nation. To secure their future, a full scope of employment will be provided to them. Our state governments have been ordered to incorporate Agniveer and give them preferences in the paramilitary forces, police services and other services. But some people wanted to do politics on it also."
Slamming opposition for labelling PM Modi's Drass visit as 'politics', Nadda stated, "Today PM Modi went to Drass with BJP leader Sanjay Seth but this is not a new thing for him as he mostly celebrates his Diwali with the soldiers. In 1999 also, he, along with the Himachal In-charge visited Drass to motivate them. But what opposition say? - Visiting Drass is politics! Everything is just politics for them."
Taking it further, he questioned whether they are nationalist or not and said, "Whenever they say such things, I remember that how can they celebrate Kargil Vijay Diwas, as they were the ones who did corruption in Augusta, Westland, Bofors and others. The ones who rose from corruption cannot celebrate Kargil Vijay Diwas, they don't have the morality to celebrate this day. These people even raised questions about the surgical strike. They were asking for proof. Are they even a nationalist?"
Alleging that Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have relations with the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and they received funds from the Communist Party of China, Nadda stated, "Nation wants to know about the deals of Rajiv Gandhi Foundation with the Communist Party of China, and Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have what relations with this foundation. On this occasion, they should think about this. They have started opposing the nation while opposing PM Modi. they should tell about their relations with the Communist Party of China and how much money they have taken from China?"
Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed annually on July 26, commemorates the success of Operation Vijay in 1999. During this conflict, Indian forces successfully reclaimed strategic positions in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir that had been infiltrated by Pakistani soldiers and terrorists. (ANI)
