JP Nadda holds 'Sangathan Parv' workshop; discusses organisational election, ongoing membership drive

New Delhi [India], October 21 (ANI): Bhartiya Janta Party National President JP Nadda held a workshop 'Sangathan Parv' on Monday in the national capital with BJP state presidents, General Secretaries (Org), states-in-charges and membership drive incharge of all the states of the country.
They all discussed the organisation election for which preparation has been going on for more than two months and the ongoing Membership drive launched by Prime Minister Narender Modi on September 2, 2024.
The meeting went on for more than 7 hours, National Returning Officer, K Laxman and National General Secretary (org) BL Santosh. BJP state Presidents from all over the country, State-in-charges and other members were present. BJP vice-president Rekha Verma and MPs Sambit Patra and Naresh as co-returning officers were also available in the meeting.
While interacting with the media, BJP UP state president Bhupender Chaudhary said, "For the process of organisation poll a 'Sangathan Mahaparv 2024' workshop were held today in which plan was discussed for election of presidents from Booth level to National level. I believe we all will be able to do the organisational formation successfully".
On the UP by-election, Chaudhary said, "The BJP's State Core Committee has finalized and proposed names of candidates for the assembly by-elections, and I expect that the party's Central Election Committee has also approved it. Soon, we will announce the party's candidates and contest the assembly by-elections with full strength."
The move to elect a new leadership also comes on the heels of a membership drive, during which over 9 crore new members have been added to the party's ranks.
Nadda is heading the party since January 2020 and his three-year term was extended to facilitate the process of electing his replacement. As per the party constitution, the term of the national president is three years after being elected generally by consensus. (ANI)
