"Join army for 4 years, then become unemployed--this is gift for your loyalty": Priyanka Gandhi in Haryana

Addressing a public rally in Haryana's Bhiwani, Priyanka said that Kurukshetra is the land of the Mahabharata, where Lord Krishna gave the message of the victory of truth over untruth and righteousness over unrighteousness, and the people of Haryana are doing the same today.

Bhiwani (Haryana) [India], October 2 (ANI): In a strong critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi said on Wednesday that during the BJP's decade of governance in Haryana, they have betrayed farmers, youth, soldiers, and women.
Addressing a public rally in Haryana's Bhiwani, Priyanka said that Kurukshetra is the land of the Mahabharata, where Lord Krishna gave the message of the victory of truth over untruth and righteousness over unrighteousness, and the people of Haryana are doing the same today.
"The people of Haryana are now standing up against the BJP for the injustices faced by farmers, soldiers, and wrestlers. Congress is going to form the government with a huge majority," she said.
She further asserted that the BJP has betrayed farmers, soldiers, women, and the youth.
"When you had voted for BJP twice, did you think such loot would occur that all airports and ports of the country would be given few industrialists? Even we could not think that such a big betrayal would happen to the country," she said.
"In Haryana, 30 exam papers have been leaked. You appear for recruitment exams, and then months and years pass, but you don't get employment. And when you don't get a job, the youth wander. Today, the issue of drugs in Haryana exists because there is unemployment here. The drug mafia is being protected by the BJP government," Priyanka Gandhi added.
The Congress leader, further targeting the BJP over the Agnipath scheme, said that the people won't even get the status of martyr in the scheme.
"Modi ji bring schemes like Agniveer for you, in which you're told to go and become a martyr, but your parents won't receive a pension, and you won't be given the status of a martyr. Go to the army for four years, and after that, become unemployed. This is the gift you get for your loyalty," she said.
"They make big promises that are never fulfilled. They bring such schemes to loot you. The government's money doesn't belong to any leader; it is your money. Today, in Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh, Congress is in power, and there we are putting your money back in your pocket. Wherever there is a BJP government, people's rights are being taken away and given to big industrialists," she added.
Priyanka Gandhi also added that even industrialists have to live in this country and they should open industries here, adding, "But when loans worth thousands of crores are forgiven for them and nothing is done for the farmers, questions need to be raised." (ANI)
