JK: Pakistan violates ceasefire again in Nowshera sector

JK: Pakistan violates ceasefire again in Nowshera sector
Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Oct. 25 (ANI): In another incident of ceasefire violation, Pakistan rangers resorted to heavy firing and shelling in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. Earlier this month on October 18, an army jawan was killed as Pakistani troops after a lull of nearly 10 days resorted to unprovoked small arms fire and mortar shelling in Balakote and Nowshera areas of Rajouri district. The soldier identified as Sudesh Kumar of 6 Rajput Regiment was killed in sniper firing on the LoC in Tarkundi area of Rajouri on Sunday evening, police said here. A Security Force (BSF) jawan was killed and another were injured in heavy firing in Jammu and Kashmir's RS Pura sector on Monday. A local resident of RS Pura was also injured in the ceasefire violation. The injured BSF jawan was brought to the Government Medical College who is currently undergoing treatment. Ceasefire violation with heavy mortar shelling also took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Pargwal sector of Akhnoor all night. Meanwhile, terrorists attacked a police post guarding minority houses at Sirnoo in Pulwama, Kashmir last night. On Friday night, the Pakistan rangers had targeted the border villages and outposts (BoP) with mortar shells and opened fire from automatic weapons along the International Border in Kathua sector. BSF soldier Gurnam Singh, who was hit in the snipper attack, had died late on Saturday night. Multiple ceasefire violations have been reported along the International Border and Line of Control after India conducted surgical strikes across the border in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir to target staging areas for terrorists last month. Pakistan has however denied the cross-border raids. (ANI)
