Jharkhand polls: "Hemant Soren's govt will be formed again," says ally Congress' Jaleshwar Mahato

The Assembly elections in Jharkhand will be held in two phases on November 13 and November 20 and votes will be counted on November 23.

Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], October 27 (ANI): Excuding confidence, Congress candidate from the Baghmara Assembly constituency said here on Sunday that Hemant Soren's government will be formed again in the Jharkhand.
Congress is the part of the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) government in the state and is also contesting the assembly polls in alliance wtith the party.
"I am talking about the ground reality and voters' opinion...you can see the women crowd here...this is the impact of the key decisions and schemes by the Jharkhand govt. Therefore, in Jharkhand, again Hemant Soren's govt will be formed," he said.
Earlier, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) released its fifth list of candidates on Friday ahead of the Jharkhand election, scheduled in two phases, on November 13 and 20.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren will contest from the Barhait Assembly constituency while his wife and sitting MLA Kalpana Soren filed her nomination as her party candidate from the Gandey Assembly constituency on Thursday.
The Assembly elections in Jharkhand will be held in two phases on November 13 and November 20 and votes will be counted on November 23.
A total of 2.60 crore voters are eligible to cast votes in Jharkhand and there are 1.31 crore male and 1.29 crore female voters. The state has 11.84 lakh first-time voters and there are 66.84 lakh young voters.
The term of the Jharkhand assembly will end on January 5, 2025, with elections scheduled in 81 constituencies (44 General, 9 SC, 28 ST) in the state.
In the 2019 Assembly elections, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha as part of the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) contested 43 seats, the Congress contested 31 seats and the Rashtriya Janata Dal had seven seats in the 81-member assembly. The UPA attained victory by winning 47 seats against BJP's 25 seats. (ANI)
