Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], June 13 (ANI): Congress leaders in Jharkhand held a meeting on Thursday to decide the next Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader, following party leader Alamgir Alam's resignation from the position after being arrested by the Directorate of Enforcement in a money laundering case.
After the meeting, Congress Jharkhand in-charge Ghulam Ahmad Mir stated that whoever is chosen as the next CLP leader will be acceptable to all.
"The meeting that took place today was necessary... A resolution was passed authorizing the party's high command to handle everything. Whoever is chosen as the CLP leader will be acceptable to all of us," Ghulam Ahmad Mir told reporters.

Jharkhand Congress President Rajesh Thakur reiterated this stance, saying that everyone will accept the decision of the party leadership.
"Today there was a meeting of the legislative party, it is sad that our legislative party leader has resigned...There was a lot of discussion about who should be given the responsibility and everyone together decided that whatever decision the leadership takes will be acceptable to us," Thakur said.
He further added that the leaders have spoken with the party's state in-charge Ghulam Ahmad Mir about the sentiments of the MLAs, and he will discuss the issue with the leadership.
Alamgir Alam submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Champai Soren for the ministerial post. He also tendered his resignation from the post of CLP leader to Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge via the jail authorities.
The ED arrested Alamgir Alam last month in connection with a money laundering case.
