Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], December 11 (ANI): Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday emphasised strengthening the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) by expanding its reach to every corner of the state.
The JMM, after forming a coalition government in Jharkhand, organised its Central Committee meeting today.
In a post on X, CM Hemant Soren highlighted that the JMM is a party "born out of struggle" and reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening the organisation in the coming times.
"Today, I attended the extended meeting of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Central Committee in Ranchi. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is a party born out of struggle. That is why we have always fought for our rights. We have won through our battles and have never accepted defeat. In the last assembly elections, due to the hard work of our dedicated leaders and workers, and the blessings of millions of people in the state, we formed a strong government in Jharkhand," CM Soren stated.
"Hearty congratulations to all of you for this achievement. In the coming times, we must strengthen the roots of the JMM family by reaching every corner of the state. We must work to ensure the rights of all sections of society, including the deprived and the exploited. Long live Jharkhand Mukti Morcha! Long live Dishom Guru Shibu Soren! Hail Jharkhand!" he added.
Following the meeting, JMM leader Manoj Pandey noted that the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to party workers.
"Today's extended meeting was a gratitude meeting. The Chief Minister expressed his thanks to all the workers. Discussions were held on how the organisation can be further strengthened. Preparations for the Maha Adhiveshan were also discussed, and everyone was urged to get involved in these efforts," Pandey said.
Party leader Mahua Maji stated that preparations for the next elections, scheduled five years from now, must begin immediately.
"There was a productive discussion today. The CM expressed his gratitude to everyone, and in the coming times, the organisation will be expanded more rapidly and strongly. A membership campaign will also be launched. To win more seats in the next elections, we must start working for the people now," Maji said.
The Hemant Soren-led JMM spearheaded the INDIA bloc's victory in the Jharkhand assembly elections, securing 56 seats in the 81-member assembly.
The JMM won 34 seats, while its allies secured 22 seats. Among the allies, the Congress won 16 seats, the RJD secured four, and the CPI-ML won two seats.
The BJP-led NDA managed only 24 seats in Jharkhand. The BJP itself won 21 seats, while its allies--the AJSU Party, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), and JD-U--secured one seat each. (ANI)
