New Delhi [India], July 13 (ANI): Days after taking oath as Jharkhand Chief Minister, Jharkhand Mukti Morch (JMM) executive president Hemant Soren along with his wife and party leader Kalpana Soren met with senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi in the national capital.

Taking to 'X', Hemant Soren wrote, "Today I met senior Congress leader respected Mrs Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi."
The Congress and the JMM are allies in the INDIA bloc and fought the Lok Sabha polls unitedly.
The Jharkhand Chief Minister, after the meeting, told reporters that the discussions on the state assembly that are slated to be held later this year to elect 81 legislative to the assembly would continue.
"I hadn't met Sonia Gandhi after coming out of jail, that is why I came to meet her. Discussions for Jharkhand Assembly elections will continue..." Soren said while speaking to reporters.
The Jharkhand CM also criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief Arvind Kejriwal's arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and claimed that it has 'humiliated' the judiciary.
"Indians are very tolerant and cooperative. They tolerate a lot until they cannot and then they make themselves heard by voting... BJP has humiliated the judiciary. I hope Arvind Kejriwal is granted bail soon", he said.
Earlier this month, Hemant Soren was sworn in as the 13th Chief Minister of Jharkhand in Raj Bhavan, Ranchi, replacing party leader Champai Soren.
Champai Soren resigned from the post just five months after taking the oath, setting the ball rolling for Hemant Soren to again take over the role on Wednesday.
Champai Soren took oath as the 12th Chief Minister of Jharkhand in the Raj Bhavan on February 2 this year.
Hemant Soren was released from the Birsa Munda Jail on June 28 after nearly five months following bail from Jharkhand High Court in a money laundering case linked to an alleged land scam. He had resigned as Chief Minister before his arrest on January 31.
He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in January on charges related to an alleged land scam and money laundering. (ANI)
