Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], September 16(ANI): BJP Chief Babulal Marandi, the state's first Chief Minister, criticised Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's government on X, highlighting issues faced by migrants from Jharkhand living in Delhi.
On Monday morning, Marandi said, "Thousands of migrants from Jharkhand live in Delhi. During my visit to Delhi, in person and on mobile, they keep informing me about the hellish conditions created by rainwater entering the houses up to the first floor due to the lack of cleaning of drains, making it difficult to live, their vehicles getting ruined by drowning in water, and the pain of getting exorbitantly increased electricity and water bills."
He added, "People are extremely angry and upset with the functioning of the Kejriwal government and the news of the AAP party setting one record after another of corruption. For these reasons, Arvind Kejriwal has realised that the longer he remains in power, the more his popularity will decline. Perhaps for these reasons, Kejriwal ji has left the post of Chief Minister and planned to hold elections soon."
BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi also criticised Kejriwal following his announcement of resignation within two days. Trivedi claimed that Kejriwal's resignation indicated he has "accepted the corruption charges" related to the Delhi Excise Policy case. Trivedi said, "He is the first Chief Minister of the country who has been banned from going to office, cannot sign any file, and cannot speak on the Delhi Excise Policy case." He questioned, "When you have been restricted from conducting official duties, what is the personal reason for which you need 48 hours to resign? This shows he has admitted his guilt."
Trivedi also accused Kejriwal of breaking his own government's rules by allowing fireworks celebrations despite a ban in Delhi, calling him "the first Chief Minister to come out of jail and break the rules made by his own government."
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva demanded immediate elections, stating, "The public of Delhi wants to get rid of the AAP government. The cabinet should be dissolved and elections should be called in November." He claimed that corruption is rampant in every department of the AAP government, and the public had already made their decision by giving zero seats to AAP in a recent verdict.
On Sunday, Delhi CM Kejriwal said, "I am going to resign from the CM position after two days. I will not sit on the CM chair until the people give their verdict. Your vote will be a certificate for my honesty; if you think I am honest, vote for me, otherwise, don't." (ANI)
