Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Nov. 5 (ANI): The Samajwadi Party's silver jubilee function, aiming to oust the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Uttar Pradesh, witnessed the grand attendance of the Janata family with veteran leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav, former prime minister H.D. Devegowda, and JD (U) leader Sharada Yadav partaking in the event on Saturday.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Nov. 5 (ANI): The Samajwadi Party's silver jubilee function, aiming to oust the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Uttar Pradesh, witnessed the grand attendance of the Janata family with veteran leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav, former prime minister H.D. Devegowda, and JD (U) leader Sharada Yadav partaking in the event on Saturday. Expressing solidarity to the party, Sharad Yadav said , "Janata Dal has always taken part in Samajwadi movements, we have been invited to attend the Silver Jubilee function. We used to belong to one party, so we have had old ties, that is why we came here." Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Yadav said there is an urgent need to oust the BJP. "Just like in Bihar, BJP will be ousted from Lucknow as well," Lalu Yadav said. Meanwhile, former prime minister and Janata Dal (Secular) chief H.D. Deve Gowda expressed delight over the Samajwadi Party's internal truce. "We have come for the SP's silver jubilee function, no talk of alliance as of now," Gowda told ANI. The ruling Samajwadi Party is celebrating its 25th anniversary of its founding day in Lucknow . The event is being seen as yet another show of strength in SP's first famil,y barely 48 hours after Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav launched his 'Vikas se Vijay Rath Yatra'. Akhilesh and Shivpal Yadav have asked their supporters to mobilise support for the silver jubilee function. Shivpal Yadav has said nothing tangible has, so far, been achieved in forging an alliance with like-minded parties. He said, Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav will take a final call for an alliance with Congress and other parties. (ANI)
