JD (U) takes on Adityanath over his 'age' remark, says he should be courteous
Patna/New Delhi [India] Mar. 22 (ANI): Day after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that he coming in between Rahul-Akhilesh could be one of the reasons for the Samajwadi Party's defeat in the state assembly polls, the Janata Dal (United) on Wednesday said the former is living in wrong perception, adding that he should act courteously. "If Yogi Adityanath considers himself as the reason of failure of Rahul and Akhilesh then this is his wrong perception because when Rahul and Akhilesh were campaigning for the elections then Adityanath's name was not there even in the fray. After victory, one should behave politely and courteously," JD (U) leader Ajay Alok told ANI. Echoing similar views, another JD (U) leader Ali Anwar said that soon the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would realise its mistake. "Yogi Ji is saying that Rahul and Akhilesh defeated in the elections because of him and somewhere he is trying to say that he won the elections because of them. This statement has some more meaning to it," Anwar told ANI. Adiyanath yesterday took a jibe at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, saying that he coming in between them could be one of the reasons for their defeat in the recently held state assembly elections. Delivering his maiden speech in the Parliament two days after taking over as the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Adityanath jocularly said that he is an year elder to the Samajwadi Party chief and a year younger to the Congress vice-president, symbolically suggesting 'how he came between the duo' and led to their failure. "I am a year younger to Rahul and an year elder to Akhilesh. Me coming in between them could be one of the reasons for the loss," Adityanath said. (ANI)
