Javadekar's timely intervention leads to refund of double payment by DU admission seeker
New Delhi, July 17 (ANI): A timely intervention by Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar led to the refund of double payment made by one of the students seeking admission in a Delhi University college. Realising that the payment was debited twice from his account, Naveen Goyal, seeking admission to Venkateswara College, took up the issue with his bank. The bank in turn told him that since proper payment orders were received by them, he should contact the college for reversal. Goyal then shot an e-mail to the HRD Minister, narrating his grievance. The minister immediately intervened and asked the concerned official to look into it. His issue was attended to and the amount was refunded within seven days. In an e-mail expressing his gratitude, Goyal wrote to Javadekar, "Thank you very much for your prompt action. Today, I got a call from Delhi University as well as from the DGM, IDBI Bank with regard to refund of double payment... They have also assured that regarding this problem they will put up a note on the DU admission portal, so that other parents do not suffer, or take corrective measures in this regard. Thank you once again for your action." (ANI)
