New Delhi [India], February 3 (ANI): Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Virendraa Sachdeva on Monday expressed confidence about his party forming the government in Delhi, claiming that the "mood of the people" in the national capital is in favour of the BJP and that the party is poised to make the "lotus blossom" in the city
Speaking to reporters, Sachdeva emphasised the extensive campaigning efforts undertaken by the BJP, mentioning that over 650 meetings had been held by the party for the assembly elections.
"'Janta ka mood bata raha hai ki 5 February ko Delhi mein kamal khilne ja raha hai (The mood of people is to make the BJP win on February 5)'. I want to thank BJP's Central leadership. PM Modi gave a lot of time for Delhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, our party president JP Nadda held meetings from time to time. If we add all the meetings, more than 650 meetings have been held by our party leaders including the Chief Ministers of several states," Sachdeva said.
He further said that people in Delhi have given lots of admiration to the BJP because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"Election Campaign might be stopped but a glimpse of the decision taken by the people of Delhi will be seen on 5th February...Our party workers have worked a lot for the Assembly elections this time...Delhi BJP has got the benefit of PM Modi's name and recognition. People have given us a lot of love because of PM Modi," Sachdeva said.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari took a dig at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, saying that people of Delhi will vote for the one who advocates for 'Khelo India' and not those who promote 'Peelo India'.
"The people of Delhi will vote on 5th February to form such a government which will run with a double engine. Delhi does not need a government that fights and quarrels...The people of Delhi will vote for the one who says 'Khelo India' and not for the one who says 'Peelo India'. The people of Delhi will vote for the one who says 'desh nahi jhukne dunga' and not for the one who says 'daaru nahi rukne dunga'...On 5th February, my brothers and sisters of Delhi will come out to form a BJP government for 5 years," Tiwari said.
Earlier in the day, Kejriwal along with Chief Minister Atishi on Monday held a roadshow in the Kalkaji assembly constituency on the last day of campaigning for assembly polls and claimed that the AAP will 55 seats.
The voting for assembly elections in Delhi will be held on Wednesday and results will announced on Saturday. (ANI)
