Jalpaiguri forest officers seize huge wildlife articles, five held

Jalpaiguri (West Bengal), Sept. 25 (ANI): Forest officers have seized one piece of elephant tusk weighing about one kg, one Himalayan black bear skull, one leopard cub skin, two pieces of black bear tusk and one Sutter gun and arrested five people in this connection in the Belacoba forest range late Saturday night.

Jalpaiguri (West Bengal), Sept. 25 (ANI): Forest officers have seized one piece of elephant tusk weighing about one kg, one Himalayan black bear skull, one leopard cub skin, two pieces of black bear tusk and one Sutter gun and arrested five people in this connection in the Belacoba forest range late Saturday night. According to Belacoba forest range ranger Sanjay Dutta, following secret information, they made a false customer team that was deployed at Odlabari, besides the National Highway-31, asking for rhino's horn purchase. Later, they conducted a search operation and seized these wild life articles and apprehended the arrested accused. Dutta said, "We started an investigation with our higher officers and send that apprehended accused to the Jalpaiguri district courts and have sought their remand." (ANI)
