Deoghar (Jharkhand) [India], April 14 (ANI): Jharkahnad's BJP MP from Godda, Nishikant Dubey on Sunday slammed Jharkhand Government after receiving a notice from the police over rescuing cows and said that jailed Hemant Soren is compelling him to do politics and seek votes in name of religion.
Speaking to ANI on being given a notice by the police, Nishikant Dubey says, "Jharkhand government has a rule that you can only transport a cow to the state where cow slaughter is banned."
The MP further informed that the cow was being transported to Bangladesh. "However, the cow was being taken to Bangladesh but the FIR says it was being taken to Bihar, where cow slaughter isn't banned. The court has stopped the investigation into the matter, and police let the cow smuggler flee and registered FIR in the name of a third person."
He also said that the Election Commission advises the political parties that during the time of elections, one cannot ask for votes based on religion, and cows. "The Election Commission says that says that you can't ask for a vote in the name of cow, religion, Hindus..."
Dubey said that he is being blamed for saving the cow and sending notice during election times is forcing him to seek votes in the name of religion. "If you will send me notice during the elections that why you helped catch the cow smuggler if the cow was going to Bangladesh, then the entire government and administration at the direction of jailed Hemant Soren are compelling me to do politics and seek votes in the name of religion..."
He also said that he did not intend to violate any EC guidelines and blamed the Jharkhand government for violating the rules. "I am being blamed for saving Gau Mata. Gau Mata is the mata of Hindus. The Constitution of india says that there should not be any cow slaughter."
He informed that the officials of the Mohanpur Police Station had called him on April 19.
Furious over the incident, Dubey asked whether the state government would torture him for protecting the cow, following the police notice.
He also took to social media and slammed the Jharkhand government for tormenting him because of his religion.
"I am a Sanatani, protecting cows is a part of my religion. The opposition loves a particular religion and hates Hindus. If I save cows, will the state government harass me? Have I committed a crime by being born in the Hindu religion?"
The case pertains to December 2023 when a man was carrying dozens of cows on the Mohanpur-Hansdiha road and was stopped by the parliamentarian and his security personnel. The cattle were freed later. (ANI)
