J-K: Terrorists snatch weapons from policemen; gun battle underway in Pulwama
Pulwama (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Oct.8 (ANI): In another infiltration attempt in the Kashmir valley, two terrorists have reportedly snatched weapons from policemen manning the Pulwama's Tumlahal village. The gun battle between the police and terrorists is currently underway. From the past one-week, the valley has seen spurt in infiltration bids with majority of the terrorists emanating from across the Line of Control (LoC). On Friday, a police constable Nazir Ahmad was killed in a militant attack in Shopian district. He was killed when militants fired at cops, who tried to repulse their rifle-snatching bid at a police post in Reshnagri area. Another cop and a civilian were injured too. The attack came amid heightened tension between India and Pakistan and repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the border. (ANI)
