J-K: Pakistan ceasefire violations along LoC (2016-2017) round up

New Delhi [India], Aug 01 (ANI): After security forces in Jammu and Kashmir struck off Lashkar terrorist Abu Dujana's name from their hit-list, the security agencies have taken a roundup of all the cease fire violations and other activities that have occurred in 2016 and 2017.

New Delhi [India], Aug 01 (ANI): After security forces in Jammu and Kashmir struck off Lashkar terrorist Abu Dujana's name from their hit-list, the security agencies have taken a roundup of all the cease fire violations and other activities that have occurred in 2016 and 2017. Ceasefire Violation at Line of Control (LOC) in 2016 were 30 where as 2017 were 275. Infiltration bid in 2016 where, 11 attempts were made and 18 terrorists were killed in that while in 2017, 19 terrorist were successful and 42 were killed in the bid. Infiltration (MAC) in 2016, 94 tried to enter while only 72 were successful. But in 2017, 193 terrorist tried to enter and only 48 were successful. Terrorists being killed by Indian Army in 2016 were 88 and in 2017 there are 117. Terrorists who initiated incidents in 2016 were 43 while in 2017, 68 have been reported. Finally coming to the Army fatalities, in 2016 there were 14 cases while in 2017 there are 35 cases registered so far. Locals joining terrorist activities: In 2016 there were 44 of them but in 2017 the number doubled to 55. Earlier in the day, the security forces killed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief commander Abu Dujana of Pakistan along with his accomplice Arif in an encounter at Hakripora village in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district.
