J-K Mountaineering and Hiking Club launches 'The Man & The Mountain'

J-K Mountaineering and Hiking Club launches 'The Man & The Mountain'
New Delhi [India], Dec.13 (ANI-Newsvoir): On the occasion of World Mountain Day, the Jammu and Kashmir Mountaineering and Hiking Club released a book 'The Man & The Mountain', authored by Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan. Mr. Khan is a banker by profession and mountaineering enthusiast and a member of the club. The book was launched at a function organized by the JKMHC along with the Department of Tourism, Kashmir at Sheri Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar. The dignitaries present during the launch of the book included, President of the Indian Mountaineering Federation (IMF) Col. H.S. Chauhan (Retd), Director Tourism Kashmir, Mr. Mahmood A. Shah. The book which is published by Notion Press, Chennai Chronicles about the journey of the protagonist, who decides to end this life due to the unfavorable circumstances in his professional life. The intensity of turmoil in his professional space results in an upheaval in his personal life. The struggle, between good and evil, between faith and mistrust, the protagonist finds himself in a company of an old man who advocates about the mysteries of life, who during a mountain trek introduces the protagonist to nature and the mysteries behind each creation, the lakes and the mountains they trek. The book is about mountains and faith. "The ideas and philosophies around which the story moves were evolved during the times when I used to trek around the mountains and valleys of Kashmir. I am humbled by the support and the Club and its members that they decided to release the book on the 'World Mountain day," said Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan, Author of The Man and The Mountain. "We were delighted to release the book on 'World International Mountain Day'. The book has a lot of philosophical content about life, humanity, fate, free will, determination and faith. It discusses religion and God in general without talking about any particular faith. A comparison is drawn between struggles of life with that of climbing the mountain and probably explains why people love to climb mountains.
