It's high time to disintegrate undemocratic Pak: Swamy

New Delhi [India], Apr. 12 (ANI): Coming down heavily on Pakistan for the death sentence awarded to Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday said the Asian neighbour that is run by the Talibans and terrorists do not believe in democracy. Swamy also used the occasion to take potshots at Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the wake of the latest development in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case while stating that the latter has become a 'joke' in his country. "We allowed Pakistan's creation in 1947 thinking that these people will become civilised. But unfortunately they have not become civilised. They don't have democracy," he told ANI. Swamy alleged that Pakistan is run by the Talibans and terrorists. Emphasizing that India must recognize Balochistan as an independent country, the BJP leader said it is high time to disintegrate Pakistan. "We have done it once made it into two parts. Now, the time has come to make Pakistan into four parts and we should start with Balochistan," he added. Jadhav was arrested in March last year, "for his involvement in espionage and sabotage activities against Pakistan," according to a statement released by the ISPR. The statement said Jadhav confessed that he was tasked by Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), to "plan, coordinate and organize espionage / sabotage activities aiming to destabilize and wage war against Pakistan." A military court found Jadhav guilty on two counts of espionage and sentenced him to death. India has strongly objected to the sentencing, saying consular access was denied during Jadhav's trial. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj yesterday said Jadhav is the victim of a plan that seeks to cast aspersions on New Delhi to deflect international attention from Islamabad's well-known record of sponsoring and supporting terrorism. Asserting that India's position on this matter is clear, Swaraj said there is no evidence of wrongdoing by Jadhav. Stating that the Pakistan Government sought India's assistance to obtain evidence and other materials for the investigation process, she informed that in doing so, they levelled ridiculous charges against senior Indian officials who had no connection to this issue.
