Patna (Bihar) [India], May 24 (ANI): Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan on Friday claimed that Congress will hit its lowest point in terms of seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
Paswan also attacked the opposition parties, saying that they make huge claims of winning before the election, but after the exit poll and the election result, they start blaming the EVM.
"The Opposition has a fixed statement... First, they make huge claims of winning and then start blaming., they will blame the EVM after the Exit polls and results," he told ANI
"The Congress will be at its all-time low," he added.
Paswan, who is part of BJP-led NDA, also said that it is completely wrong to give reservations based on religion as the constitution provides them based on caste.
"The basis for reservation has always been caste, never religion. There has never been mention of reservation based on religion in our constitution. It is completely wrong to give reservations based on religion," he told ANI.
Chirag Paswan also met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Speaking to ANI about the meeting he said, "It was a courtesy meeting. Information was exchanged about the six phases of the Lok Sabha elections."
Polling in Bihar, which sends 40 Lok Sabha MPs, is taking place in all seven phases of the Lok Sabha elections, from April 19 to June 1.
The first five phases of polling in Bihar were held on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13 and May 20. The next two rounds of voting are scheduled to be held on May 25 and June 1.
Votes will be counted on June 4. (ANI)
