"It is a great responsibility": MNS' Amit Thackeray after filing nomination from Mahim for assembly polls

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 29 (ANI): Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) candidate from Mahim, Amit Thackeray, said that contesting the election from the constituency is a 'great' responsibility and he will fulfil that 'passionately'.
Raj Thackeray's son and MNS candidate from Mahim, Amit Thackeray, while speaking to ANI on Monday, said, "It is a great responsibility and I will fulfil it passionately. The agenda is to reach out to the people and work for them."
When asked about the campaign, he added that he prefers door-to-door campaigns, saying, "I like one-to-one connections with people."
Amit Thackeray filed his nominations on Monday from Mahim constituency for the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra.
The Maharashtra Assembly election is set to happen on November 20, with vote counting for all 288 constituencies scheduled for November 23.
On Monday, MNS released the seventh list of 18 candidates for the Maharashtra assembly elections.
Earlier on Sunday, October 27, the party announced a fifth list of 15 candidates for Maharashtra assembly elections.
MNS has nominated Yogesh Chile from Panvel, Shivshankar Lagar from Khamgaon, Mallinath Patil from Akkalkot, Nagesh Paskanti from Solapur City, Madhya Amit Deshmukh from Jalgaon, Jamod Bhayyasaheb Patil from Mehkar, and Rupesh Deshmukh from Gangakedhe. Shekhar Dunde from Umred, Balasaheb Pathrikar from Fulambri, Rajendra Gapat from Paranda Devdutt More from Osmanabad (Dharashiv), Sagar Dudhane from Katol Someshwar Kadam from Beed Faisal Popere from Srivardhan, and Yuvraj Yeddre from Radhanagari.
In Maharashtra, the filing of nominations for single-phase assembly polls will end Tuesday. The scrutiny of nominations will be done tomorrow and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 4.Voting for all 288 seats will be held on 20th November in a single phase.The counting of votes will be taken up on November 23.A total of 4,426 nomination papers of 3,259 candidates have been filed till October 28 for the elections in 288 constituencies of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, the Chief Election Officer's office said.
In the 2019 assembly elections in Maharashtra, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena 56, and the Congress 44. (ANI).
