IT, Delhi Police raids law firm in GK, recover Rs.2.5 crores in new currency

New Delhi [India], Dec. 11 (ANI): In a joint raid conducted by the Income Tax Department and the Delhi Police, Rs. 10 crores was recovered from a law firm in Delhi's Greater Kailash area. Acting on a tip-off, the police recovered Rs. 2.5 crore in new currency notes and the balance Rs.7.5 crores in old currency notes from the T&T law firm owned by Rohit Tondon late on Saturday night. "We received information which we shared with the Income Tax department and jointly raided this place. Till now, we have seized around Rs. 10 crore rupees out of which Rs. 2.5 crore are new currencies and Rs. 7.5 crores in old currency," Assistant Commissioner of Police, Inter-State Cell Sanjay Sehrawat told media. The police said the currencies were kept in various bags and stored in a cupboard in a separate room. The police said the investigation is in process and all those guilty are being aggressively pursued. (ANI)
