Porbandar (Gujarat) [India], May 1 (ANI): Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Family Welfare and Health and BJP candidate from Porbandar Lok Sabha seat in Gujarat, said that the issue of development is the party's election campaign.
During a roadshow in the Dhoraji area in Porbandar, Mandaviya said, "Our issues in Lok sabha election is development and development. In the past our issue was development, today our issue is development and future also it will be the issues of development so I am seeking a vote in the name of development."
"Whatever work Modi ji has done in the last 10 years has brought about development, the issue of development is our election campaign," the Union Minister told ANI.
On Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's remarks that if BJP returns to power then it will put the Constitution and democracy in danger, Mandaviya said, "Congress itself is in danger. Congress's existence is in danger, hence it is in despair."
"For the last month, I have been doing an election campaign and we are continuously getting the enthusiasm and love of the public from all sections of society. The elderly lady is giving her blessings. I am getting continuous support from people here. Everyone joins the padayatra. I am seeing two things. One the public's faith in the Bharatiya Janata Party is visible. The public has faith in Modi ji, that is why Modi ji's government will formed again. Such ambience is coming from the public," he remarked.
Mansukh Mandaviya is pitted against Congress' Lalit Vasoya, a former MLA, who belongs to the Patidar community in the Porbandar Lok Sabha seat. Before becoming a Rajya Sabha member, Mandaviya won the Palitana assembly seat of Bhavnagar in 2002.
The voting in Gujarat will be held in a single phase on May 7 for 25 Lok Sabha seats. The results will be announced on June 4. (ANI)
