Interim protection from arrest granted to expelled AIADMK MP Sasikala Pushpa

New Delhi, Aug 11 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Thursday granted interim protection from arrest to expelled AIADMK MP Sasikala Pushpa and two of her family members till August 22, who face charges of harassment by their domestic help.

New Delhi, Aug 11 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Thursday granted interim protection from arrest to expelled AIADMK MP Sasikala Pushpa and two of her family members till August 22, who face charges of harassment by their domestic help. The court said that no coercive action is to be taken against Pushpa and her kin until August 22 while she explores her legal remedies. The DHC also said that Pushpa and her accused family members have to approach the concerned court for further remedies like regular bail. A harassment complaint has been lodged by Pushpa's maid against her, her husband, her mother and her son. Earlier, The Tamil Nadu government was restrained by the Delhi High Court from taking any "coercive action". The domestic servants, who reportedly worked at Pushpa's house in Tamil Nadu, had filed a police complaint alleging that they were tortured by them. Pushpa was expelled from AIADMK by party supremo Jayalalithaa on August 1 for "bringing disrepute to the party". (ANI)
