"Insult to 140 crore Indians": CM Yogi Adityanath slams RJD, Congress over alleged abuses hurled at PM Modi in Darbhanga

"He (PM Modi) is the world's most popular leader now. This undignified language from the INDIA bloc platform is an insult to 140 crore Indians. The people of Bihar will give them a befitting reply. No civilised society can accept such language. Congress and RJD leaders should apologise for this," Adityanath told reporters here.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 28 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday slammed the opposition parties taking out the 'Voter Adhikaar Yatra' over alleged abuses hurled at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother, and said that such remarks were an insult to 140 crore Indians.
He further hit out at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, saying that their "indecent and uncivilised" remarks against PM Modi represent the failing character of politics.
"From the Congress and RJD stage in Bihar's Darbhanga, the indecent and uncivilised slogans raised against PM Narendra Modi are condemnable and represent the falling character of politics. Everyone knows the hardships endured by this mother who raised her son despite all odds, and now he, as the Prime Minister, has dedicated his life to Bharat Mata," Adityanath said.
Moreover, Adityanath held a meeting with the Stamp and Registration Department at the Chief Minister's residence.
Earlier in the day, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra lambasted Rahul Gandhi and the other leaders of the INDIA bloc over the kind of language being used in Bihar's 'Voter Adhikaar Yatra', accusing them of engaging in the "politics of abuse".
"There's no difference between Rahul Gandhi, Mani Shankar Aiyar and Sanjay Raut. There's a competition among the INDIA bloc leaders. Rahul Gandhi is the new Mani Shankar Aiyar of Congress. This politics of abuse is not limited to the Prime Minister," Patra said while addressing a press conference here.
Patra criticised the abuses hurled at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Voter Adhikaar Yatra and slammed Rahul Gandhi for addressing the latter as "tu", which he implied was disrespectful to the Prime Minister of 140 crore Indians. (ANI)
