Chandigarh (Haryana) [India], September 12 (ANI): Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Thursday released its third list of 11 candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections.
Aditya Chautala, who recently jumped ship from the BJP to join INLD, will contest from Dabwali.
He is the grandson of former Haryana Chief Minister Devi Lal.
Some of the other candidates announced in the third list are Sunaina Chautala from Fatehabad, Kunal Karan Singh from Tohana, Surender Lathar from Julana, Parkash Bharti from Mulana (SC), and Daya Bhadana from Punhana.
Notably, INLD is contesting the elections in alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
Earlier in the day, Aam Aadmi Party also released its sixth list of 19 candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections.
The party has declared its candidates on 89 out of 90 seats so far.
Earlier, there were talks on seat-sharing between the AAP and Congress, but the two INDIA bloc partners couldn't reach an agreement.
The last date for filing nominations is September 12. The voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5. Votes will be counted on October 8.
In 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the single-largest party with 40 seats, while Congress was a close second with 30 seats. BJP formed the government in alliance with the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP). However, the alliance broke earlier this year, following which BJP formed the government with other smaller parties.
BJP has been in power in Haryana for 10 years. Manohar Lal Khattar served as the Chief Minister of Haryana for nine and a half years. But, he tendered his resignation in June this year, handing over the reins to Nayab Singh Saini.
Khattar contested the Lok Sabha elections and is serving as Union Minister of Urban and Housing Affairs. (ANI)
