Begusarai (Bihar) [India], March 28 (ANI): Union Minister Giriraj Singh took a hit at the opposition leaders on Thursday and said that the leaders of the INDIA bloc had only united to "abuse" Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"INDIA alliance has no presence. Jise kehte hai, iska koi wajood nahi hai. They have come together only to abuse Modi Ji," Giriraj Singh told ANI.
Reacting to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's arrest, Giriraj Singh says, "Jaise karein hain, waisa paayenge. (Will get as they have done.)"
Earlier this month, while taking a dig at the opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said INDIA bloc's ideology is one of "corruption, misgovernance, and anti-nationalism."
He said, "While Modi is busy working to improve the lives of poor and middle-class people, there is an INDIA alliance, which has united in Delhi with a manifesto to abuse Modi day and night."
While addressing a crowd that included the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri SVAnidhi scheme at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, PM Modi said, "What is the ideology of this INDIA alliance? Their ideas are of misgovernance and corruption, while Modi thinks of welfare of the nation."
Meanwhile, trouble ensued in the INDIA bloc after Shiv Sena (UBT) announced its first list of candidates in Maharashtra for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
Congress' senior state leader and member of the MVA negotiating committee, Balasaheb Thorat, said that the Sena should not have announced the candidates for Mumbai South Central, Bhiwandi and Sangli as those seats were still under discussion.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) named senior leader Anil Desai from the Mumbai South Central parliamentary constituency and Chandrahar Patil from Sangli.
"The Congress leaders are angry at the list released by the Uddhav Shiv Sena today. I would request that the Senate reconsider the list of candidates that it has announced. Discussions were on in some of the seats and everyone was expected to follow the spirit of the Aghadi," Thorat said, speaking in a video statement on Wednesday.
Thorat, who was leading the seat-sharing talks with the Shiv Sena on behalf of the Maharashtra Congress, questioned the announcement of seats while discussions on some seats were still ongoing.
Mumbai Congress President Varsha Gaikwad also said that they have conveyed their displeasure about the Shiv Sena seats announced in Mumbai to the party high command. (ANI)
