"On one hand is the BJP, which is trying its best to continue development works in the country but who is on the other side? The same old Congress and its arrogant alliance. the same INDI alliance. Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], April 22 (ANI): Amid Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda on Monday hit out at the Congress-led INDIA bloc saying that the opposition alliance defends those who indulge in corruption.
"On one hand is the BJP, which is trying its best to continue development works in the country but who is on the other side? The same old Congress and its arrogant alliance. the same INDI alliance. On one hand PM Modi asks to get rid of corruption, on the other hand, this arrogant alliance stands for defending those who engage in corruption," Nadda said while campaigning at Chhattisgarh's Chandkhuri village.
Nadda also accused parties in the opposition INDIA bloc of dynastic politics, adding that all of them are corrupt.
"The INDI alliance is a conglomeration of dynastic politics. Isn't Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah's party a family party? Aren't they in the INDI alliance? Aren't Sukhbir Badal, Chautala, Mulayam Singh-Akhilesh-Dimple Yadav, Lalu-Rabri-Tejashwi-Tej Pratap, Mamata-Abhishek, KCR-KTR-Kavitha....family parties? These are all parties that indulge in saving their family. These are all indulged in corruption. All of them are corrupt," the BJP chief said.
Citing examples, Nadda further said that most of the leaders of the INDIA bloc are either on bail or in jail.
"Isn't Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi on bail? Isn't the National Herald case going on? Isn't P Chidambaram, Kartik Chidambaram, Sanjay Singh, Lalu Yadav, TMC Ministers, DMK Minister on bail? Isn't Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, TMC Minister, KCR's daughter Kavitha, DMK Minister in jail? These corrupt people are either out on bail or in jail," the BJP chief said.
Nadda further accused the Congress of being soft when it comes to appeasement politics and on terrorists.
"The Congress is always soft wherever appeasement politics is practised. They raised anti-India slogans in Jawaharlal Nehru University. And they give tickets for Member of Parliament to people from the Tukde Tukde gang. Can those who love leaders who raise such anti-India slogans be patriots? Haven't they remained soft on terrorists? They always talk like this," the BJP chief said.
"Recently, at Karnataka Assembly when Naseer Hussain won the Rajya Sabha elections Pakistan Zindabad slogans were raised," Nadda added.
The BJP won nine of the 11 seats in the state in the 2019 Lok Sabha, while the Congress had to settle for just two, including Bastar. (ANI)
