Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India], November 27 (ANI): After Maharashtra caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's statement on CM post, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis said on Wednesday that in the Mahayuti, there was never a difference of opinions towards one another and soon they will meet the leaders and take the decision.
Speaking to the media, Fadnavis said, "In our Mahayuti, there was never a difference of opinions towards one another. We have always made decisions by sitting together and we have said before elections that we will take the decision (regarding CM's post) collectively after the elections. A few people have doubts which Eknath Shinde ji has clarified today. Soon we will meet our leaders and will take the decision."
Earlier today, Eknath Shinde said that whatever decision Prime Minister Narendra Modi takes, he will abide by that.
He added that whoever is elected as the Chief Minister by Mahayuti, Shiv Sainiks will lend their support to that person.
"I have told the Prime Minister that if there is any problem in forming the government in Maharashtra because of me, then do not bring any doubt in your mind and whatever decision you take, that decision is acceptable to me," Eknath Shinde said in a press conference in Mumbai.
Shinde is expected to leave for Delhi later on Wednesday and a meeting of all Yuti allies with PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah is also on the cards.
"You (PM Modi) are the head of our family. The way people of BJP accept your decision, we will also accept your decision in the same way. I made a phone call to PM Modi and HM Amit Shah yesterday and told them that there will be no problem in forming the government because of me," Eknath Shinde added.
Reacting to Shinde's statement, Shiv Sena leader Deepak Kesarkar said that the decision lies on the BJP.
"He (Eknath Shinde) hasn't said anything that he won't accept the deputy CM post. It's the outside people that are saying all these things. It's their (BJP) decision. Let them decide. Everything else is a premature thing to say," Kesarkar said.
After meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena MP Dhairyasheel Sambhajirao Mane said that there is no dispute and all the three parties of the Mahayuti will work together for the development of the state. (ANI)
