Kangra (Himachal Pradesh) [India], Dec. 22 (ANI): Five patients who had undergone cataract surgery at Rajender Prasad Medical College in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh on December 13, are yet to regain their vision.

In Kangra, five patients who underwent cataract surgery yet to regain vision
Kangra (Himachal Pradesh) [India], Dec. 22 (ANI): Five patients who had undergone cataract surgery at Rajender Prasad Medical College in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh on December 13, are yet to regain their vision. Doctor Vinay Mahajan said the patients were recalled and given treatment for an infection they had developed after the operation. "Immediately all the five patients, who were operated for cataract, were administered anti-biotic injections to treat their infection. After that doctors spoke to their colleagues in PGI (Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research) in Chandigarh, and Mela Malai Hospital in Maranda. All the patients were referred to Maranda," said Mahajan. He further said the samples of the patients were sent for examination and the reports were awaited. Three of the patients were referred to a special hospital in Maranda, while two others were referred to PGI, where they are being treated. "Doctors told us that we will have to stay here for 10-12 days and we will recover slowly," said a patient, Trilok Chand, who is undergoing treatment at Mela Malai Hospital. (ANI)
