Vadodara (Gujarat) [India], May 4 (ANI): After former Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely joined the BJP today, Congress candidate Shashi Tharoor said that some people from the BJP have also joined Congress and in every party, some joining and exit do happen.
"The person who had left once, if that person leaves again, what do I say about it? When something wrong happens inside a democratic party, that means we can speak our opinion about something. If the party's leadership doesn't accept our opinion, either you can stay and continue your work or you can find your way, some people have left like that. From BJP also people have joined our party. In every party, some joining and exit do happen," Tharoor said.
"My one complaint is that when someone leaves Congress, a big story is made but when someone leaves BJP, nothing happens," he added.
Meanwhile, days after resigning from the post of Delhi Congress Chief, Arvinder Singh Lovely joined the BJP.
Along with Lovely, former Congress MLAs Raj Kumar Chauhan, Naseeb Singh and Neeraj Basoya and former Youth Congress President Amit Mallik also joined the BJP.
Citing the reason, Lovely said, "I had resigned last Sunday and till date no response has been received from the party. So those who cannot take care of their own people, how will they take care of the people of Delhi?"
Arvinder Singh Lovely resigned from the Delhi Congress chief on April 28 and wrote a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge citing that he was against the alliance between Congress and AAP in Delhi.
"The Delhi Congress Unit was against an alliance with a party which was formed on the sole basis of levelling false, fabricated and malafide corruption charges against the Congress Party. Despite that, the Party made a decision to ally with the AAP in Delhi...," he said in his letter. (ANI)
