IMPPA requests MNS to allow release of films starring Pak artistes

New Delhi [India] (ANI): Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) president Ashoke Pandit today met with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leaders and requested them to allow the release of films starring the Pakistani artistes. The IMPPA, which had earlier passed a resolution to ban Pakistani actors from the Indian film industry, presented its concerns regarding the financial losses in these Indian films involving the artistes from the other side of the border. "IMPPA has banned the artistes of Pakistan, but we added a constitution regarding the films that are under production with Pakistani actors, musicians and singers in them and the films that are about to be released should not be touched," Pandit said. "We presented our concerns regarding the film producers, technicians and distributors with MNS leaders Shalini Thackeray and Abhay Kopka and told them that the money involved in the productions belongs to the Indians. The Pakistani artistes earned money and left. Therefore, it our country's financial loss," he added. "We have presented our proposition. They will discuss and get back to us with a decision," Pandit said on the decision of the MNS. The IMPPA president further said that a resolution has been drafted, which would be sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "We asked him to cancel and withdraw their work permits until the situation normalizes, until there are no more martyrs at the borders, until they stop sending terrorists to India and until the situation improves.We appealed to the Prime Minister from the IMPPA regarding this so that the argument over the Pakistani artists gets over soon," he added. However, the MNS on its part remained adamant and said that it was not them who are stalling the release of the movies but it was the will of common Indians. (ANI)
