Imphal: Editors' Guild Manipur stages protest against planting of hand grenade at Pandam office
Imphal (Manipur) [India], Dec. 27 (ANI): Denouncing the planting of a grenade at the office of Pandam evening daily, Imphal, by a militant group, the Editors' Guild Manipur staged a sit-in-protest on Tuesday. The militant outfit, identified as the KCP-MC, planted a hand grenade on Monday. The protest was staged from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Keishampat, and the state scribes also took part in it. The Editors' Guild Manipur has also launched a cease work agitation on Tuesday. As a part of condemnation, all the newspapers of the state left their editorial spaces blank except for a common sentence. The explosive, which was found at around 6 p.m., was defused at around 6.30 p.m. by a bomb disposal squad of the Manipur Police. It was found above a steel almirah along with a note from KCP-MC. The note found along with the grenade was marked 'Danger' in red ink. A message was also written on it that reads: "Respected brothers and Editor singda pijaba is is a New Year 2017 gift followed by, " It's a WARNING, KCP-MC".(ANI)
