Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 22 (ANI): Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday announced that if his party comes to power in Uttar Pradesh, a financial assistance of Rs 3,000 would be provided to poor women.
The SP chief further criticised the BJP-led government in the State, alleging a decline in the safety and welfare of women and girls.
Addressing a press conference, Yadav said, "... The situation has become unsafe for women and daughters in the reign of BJP government. Everyday, we hear cases of injustice to women and daughters... If the Samajwadi Party forms government, Rs 3000 will be given to poor women in the state... This government is giving poor quality laptops... 1090 is not as effective as it used to be due to multiple hurdles like budget..."
The SP chief further outlined his party's plans for enhancing women's safety in the state.
"In the coming time, we will strengthen it for women's security... If structural changes are needed in the police, our government will make a big decision in favour of women's welfare..." Yadav said.
Yesterday, the Samajwadi leader criticised the BJP-led government over its policies.
Speaking to reporters, the SP chief said, "This government is saying that they will develop industrial regions by the expressway... The Samajwadi Party had started making markets for farmers along the expressway. The BJP should focus on creating markets for the farmers. The markets should be such that every crop is purchased there... Why did they shut down the cow milk plant?... What do these BJPians have to do with any milk products? The people of the BJP do not consume cow milk... They incline cow dung. They like it when cow dung is gifted to them. If you would gift them cow milk products like ghee or curd, they would be upset... They get happy when they are given cow dung..." (ANI)
