Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 11 (ANI): Ahead of the upcoming assembly polls, Shiv Sena MP Milind Deora emphasised the importance of Maharashtra's progress, stating, "If Maharashtra moves forward, India will move forward".
Milind Deora also criticised the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) for allegedly "hindering every good work of this government", referring to the initiatives by the ruling Mahayuti government.
"Every seat is important in this election. The idea is to ensure that Maharashtra and Mumbai move forward and the progress we have achieved in the last two years continues at the same pace. Our aim is to defeat the speedbreaker politics of the opposition, who are unnecessarily trying to obstruct every good work of this government. If Mumbai moves forward, Maharashtra will move forward and if Maharashtra moves forward, India will move forward," Milind Deora told ANI.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde also took a dig at the MVA over their poll assurances for the assembly polls in Maharashtra and alleged that they spread fake narratives during the Lok Sabha polls.
"People of Maharashtra will not believe in their (Maha Vikas Aghadi) assurances now. The way they gave assurances in Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana and after coming to power, they did not fulfil even one assurance, similarly, they are bringing similar assurances in Maharashtra today. I want to tell the people to stay away from these assurances. The way they spread fake narratives in Lok Sabha polls, but I think that the people of Maharashtra are intelligent, they will ignore such people and will form the Mahayuti government again in Maharashtra," Shinde told reporters in Thane.
The Mahayuti alliance comprises the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
It is up against Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), which comprises of Congress, Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
Maharashtra will go to polls on November 20 with votes being counted on November 23.
In the last two elections, the BJP emerged as the single largest party in Maharashtra, winning 105 seats in 2019 and 122 seats in 2014. (ANI)
