New Delhi [India], September 28 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain on Saturday slammed Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over his alleged involvement in the MUDA 'scam', and asked him to resign if he has "any morality left."
Taking a jibe at Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Hussain said the Karnataka CM should not implement the "Karnataka model."
"Siddaramaiah cannot be saved in the MUDA scam now. Lokayukt has registered an FIR. Now even if a little bit of morality is left, then he should resign. He should not implement the Kejriwal model. Kejriwal did not resign after going to jail. The leaders of the INDI alliance think that that model can be implemented... But the people of Karnataka are demanding his resignation," Hussain told ANI.
Earlier, BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari also attacked the Siddaramaiah government alleging that the "ill benefit" of Rs 55 crores was provided to him. Attacking the Gandhi Family, he said that had the Gandhi Family been honest, then they could have removed Siddaramaiah from his post.
"The people of Karnataka see Siddaramaiah as a corrupt CM. After the ill benefit of Rs. 55 crores were given to his wife and son... the Karnataka CM has no right to be on his chair. He is so nervous that he has taken back the general consent that is being given to the CBI. Karnataka High Court has said against the Karnataka CM that prime facie he has given the benefit of Rs 55 crore of public money to his family, he is the prime accused in the MUDA scam," he said.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari hit back at the BJP, accusing it of trying to snatch power from the ruling government in Karnataka by using central government agencies. He stated that Congress will "fight till the last breath" to stop them.

"What happened in Jharkhand, what happened in Delhi, the same thing is going on in Karnataka, the same game is going on in Karnataka. Our CM Siddaramaiah is known for his integrity and work; false allegations are being levelled against him, and agencies are being misused. We are firm that he (Siddaramaiah) is innocent and we will fight till the last breath with the BJP government, which did not win the elections and wants to snatch power through these tactics," Tiwari told ANI.
CPI MP P Sandosh Kumar also attacked the BJP accusing it of attempting to tarnish the image of important leaders of the opposition.

"Law should take its own course so no political party or no organisation can prevent it... Those who are grabbing people's money should be punished... I think Siddaramaiah is not a corrupt man... They (BJP) want to tarnish the image of those leading politicians on the opposition front... Lokayukta has registered a case already so let them continue with it and there is no need of the resignation of Siddaramaiah," Kumar told ANI.
Earlier, a Special Court in Bengaluru on Wednesday passed an order directing Karnataka Lokyukta to conduct an investigation against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on the allegation of illegalities in the allotment of 14 sites worth Rs 56 crore to his wife Parvathi by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
Karnataka Lokayukta's Mysuru district police have to conduct the investigation and submit its report in three months. The Special Court's order came after the Karnataka High Court on Tuesday vacated its interim stay order granted on August 19, directing the court to defer the decision on the complaints against Siddaramaiah. The order came on the petition of social activist Snehamayi Krishna. (ANI)
