Saran (Bihar) [India], May 2 (ANI): Dismissing the Opposition, the BJP's Saran Lok Sabha candidate and former Union Minister, Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Thursday said the electoral outcome in Bihar was a foregone conclusion as his party was well on course to win all 40 seats in the state.

Brimming with confidence as he arrived to file his nomination from Saran on Thursday, Rudy told ANI, "As far as I can see, there is no election in Bihar as we are well on the way to winning all 40 seats in the state and are also confident of sailing past 400 seats across the country."
"I filed my nomination from Saran today. The people here want to see Narendra Modi return as prime minister for a third term in office. And, for that to happen, they would elect BJP candidates from all seats by handsome margins," the former Union Minister told ANI.
Though dismissive of the rival candidate, Rudy faces a formidable opponent in the form of RJD leader and daughter of the party supremo and former Bihar chief minister, Rohini Acharya.
Significantly, Rudy recorded resounding wins against Lalu Prasad's kin in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
In 2014, he defeated former CM Rabri Devi, wife of Lalu Yadav from Saran. In the 2019 polls, he trounced Chandrika Rai, father-in-law of Lalu's son Tej Pratap Yadav.
Polling in Bihar, which sends 40 members to the Lok Sabha, is being held across all seven phases--April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1. Saran is set to poll in the fifth phase on May 20.
The counting of votes for all phases is scheduled for June 4.
In the 2019 elections, the BJP-led NDA nearly mopped up the poll sweepstakes in the state, winning 39 of the 40 seats. (ANI)
