I cautioned Congress about the possible crisis: Vaghela
Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], Aug. 06 (ANI): Former Congress leader Shankarsinh Vaghela on Sunday said that he had presaged the top rung of his party with regard to rising unrest in the political outfit in Gujarat but the senior leadership did not pay heed to his advice. Vaghela said if the Congress top leadership had not ignored his advice there would have been no need to send MLAs to Gujarat, while adding that party leaders in Delhi said that they will not stop anybody who wants to leave. "Had prompt action been taken by the party, which was very much required then they did not have to take them to Bengaluru. I had sent the message to Delhi that MLAs unhappy and might join BJP. I was told to let them go if they want to," Vaghela told ANI here on Sunday. Vaghela further said that absence of MLAs at a time when people in many parts of the state are suffering due to floods will cost the Congress later. "The people are quite upset with the MLAs who left them hapless, while enjoying themselves in a resort in Bengaluru", said Vaghela. Earlier on July 21 Vaghela had reigned as Leader of Opposition in Gujarat Assembly. However, he had ruled out of joining any other political party. (ANI)
